Six issues that delay 90% of jobs.
RGB photos
Convert to CMYK with the right profile before sending. RGB will shift to the closest CMYK match and the print may look unexpectedly dull.
Low-res images
Anything below 300 dpi at final size will print soft or pixelated. Phone screenshots, web images, and Google search saves are usually too low.
Missing bleed
Set a 0.125" bleed on every side and pull background art into it. Without bleed, the cutter can leave white slivers on the trimmed edge.
Native fonts
Outline all fonts or send the font files. Otherwise the press substitutes, and your name looks wrong on the proof.
Transparency flattening
Flatten transparency to a high-resolution PDF before sending. Live transparency can produce unexpected color shifts on press.
Spot colors
If you need a Pantone match, name the spot color in the file and tell us. Otherwise we will convert to process CMYK.

In-house prepress catches most issues before the press. If something can't be fixed, we'll tell you exactly what to send instead.
