What to know about convention printing.
Exhibitor work has a different shape to ordinary print
A convention job is a package rather than a product. Booth graphics, hand-outs, badges and signage all have to arrive together, in a specific condition, against a date that was published a year ago. That is why this category is quoted as a set.
The graphics themselves are wide-format output: backwalls, hanging signs, retractables and table throws are produced through large format printing, and the banner and rigid-sign detail is on banner and sign printing.
What to confirm before the booth is built
Show floors have their own rules, and they differ by venue and by show. Height limits, hanging rules, what may be attached to a booth structure and what must be free-standing are all set by the organiser rather than by the printer.
Get the exhibitor kit for your specific show and read the graphics section before finalising sizes. It is the difference between a backwall that goes up in ten minutes and one that gets refused on the floor.
Paperwork nobody plans for
Every booth ends up needing operational paper: lead sheets, order forms, receipt books, check-in sets. Numbered and multi-part versions of those are covered on the business form printing page, and they are worth adding to the job at quote stage rather than discovering the week of the show.
