What to know about business essentials.
The stack, and the pages that go deeper
Business essentials is the flagship category: the paper a business reorders rather than the paper it prints once for a campaign. Cards, letterhead, envelopes, labels, checks and the everyday form set.
Cards are the most-asked item in the stack and now have a page of their own. Stocks, weights, finishes, special cuts and file setup are covered on business card printing. Numbered and carbonless paperwork is on business form printing, and the wider office paper list is under office supplies.
Matching a set across items
The reason to quote stationery as a set rather than item by item is consistency. A brand colour built one way on a coated card and another way on an uncoated letterhead will not match, and the difference is obvious when the two are held together.
Send the whole list at once, including anything you expect to reorder later, and the shop can fix the ink build and the stock family across the set so a reprint six months from now still matches the original.
Checks, labels and the items with rules attached
A few items in this category are not ordinary printing. Payroll and trust-account checks carry MICR encoding, which is machine-read at the bank and has to be printed to spec on the correct stock. Labels have to be matched to the surface and the environment they are applied to, since a permanent paper label and a removable vinyl one behave very differently on a cold or wet surface.
Both are routine, but both are worth flagging when you send the job rather than treating them as a normal print run.
